The Coaches

The coaching staff is constantly improving the YMCA Orcas Artistic Swimming program. All of our coaches are certified coaches with USA Artistic Swimming. The coaching staff are all background checked, CPR/First Aid certified, and Safesport Certified. They have access to the most comprehensive training and certification programs offered through USA Artistic Swimming.

Coach Anya

Anya Wiens swam for NCO Synchro for 12 years before heading off to college at Colorado School of Mines to study Mechanical Engineering. She is recently graduated and is excited to be coaching her home team this season. Anya will be working primarily with the novice, intermediate, and master teams.

Coach Corinne

Corinne Hall grew up swimming with the Boulder Aquateens in Colorado for 10 years learning and competing in artistic swimming. She also swam for her high school and summer league racing swim teams, where she started coaching. Competing and traveling with the team was so much fun, but the best part was the sister-like friendships she made during those years. Plus, this sport teaches teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance that have carried through all future endeavors.

After high school, she attended the University of Denver, where she tried out water polo, spent a semester in Spain, and graduated with a business degree in hospitality management. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC for a year for a position at a hotel. Then, she came right home to Colorado and landed in Fort Collins.

Outside the pool world, she now works in marketing, enjoys coffee often, reads mystery novels, and tries lots of new recipes. Her brother and sister-in-law are ultra-marathon runners who she can rely on for great hiking tips. She also annually runs obstacle-course style races with a high school friend so they can keep competing together.
